Alcohol Sampling
The Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) has the sole rights for the sale and distribution of any article of food or drink for consumption on-site however the GCCEC understands that sampling is a key part of the exhibition experience. The sampling of externally supplied alcoholic beverages is permitted at the venue providing exhibitors notify the organisers of their intent to sample.
Exhibitors who intend on sampling alcohol at the show must complete the following
- Login to the exhibitor portal and complete the compulsory Sampling Alcohol form
- Upload copies of your RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) Certificate issued in QLD or another Australian State or Territory. (Please note, you can only use your interstate RSA qualification in Queensland if it’s a Statement of Attainment from the nationally accredited Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol course. This is the only nationally recognised qualification)
If exhibitors intend to serve Alcoholic Beverages with additional high risk ingredients such as dairy or fruit garnishes, they will need to also complete the additional steps outlined in the Food & Beverage (Non-Alcoholic) Sampling page in adherence to QLD food safety regulations.
Sample Sizes
- Spirit: 10 ml or less
- Wine: 30 ml or less
- Beer: 50 ml or less
Please Note:
- Water must be available on your stand if you are sampling alcohol
- All items being sampled must be directly related to the exhibitors core business
- Sale of alcohol onsite is forbidden, however orders can be taken and fulfilled at a later date. Exhibitors are also allowed to display their product
- Exhibitors who submit forms late risk not being able to sample their products
- Extra cleaning charges incurred through spillage or the removal of food/wet waste will be the responsibility of the exhibitor
- All exhibitors sampling alcohol will fall under the jurisdiction of the GCCEC (Venue) Liquor Licence, as such exhibitors are not required to source their own liquor license for this event. Exhibitors must follow any directions given to them by the GCCEC in relation to this area. Exhibitors will be contacted if there are any queries.
- Exhibitors must comply with RSA guidelines.
- Exhibitors are required to display a copy of their Liquor or Wine Producers Licence (issued in Queensland or another Australian State or Territory) at the stand for the duration of the event.
- Exhibitors are required to hold a copy of all current nationally recognised RSA Certificates of all persons selling and/or serving alcohol at the stand for the duration of the event.
- Exhibitors are not permitted to sell alcohol for consumption on GCCEC premises.
- Exhibitors are required to supply all serving equipment and disposable item/s including disposable tasting cups, etc.
- Exhibitors are required to supply spittoons to discard of samples and waste accordingly.
- An ingredient list of all beverage product/s is required to be available at the stand, particularly outlining any allergens.
- GCCEC will conduct compliance checks regularly during the event.
