Compulsory Safety Inductions

GCCEC Safety Induction – all Exhibitors & Contractors

All Exhibitors and Contractors are required to complete a GCCEC Safety Induction if they are onsite during the move-in and move-out.

The organiser’s have divided the stand construction from the stand dressing (i.e. stock up and decoration of stand) phase of the move in and move out.  Space only exhibitors are encouraged to enforce this deadline with their contractors.

Construction Induction Card (White Card)

Queensland Work Health and Safety regulations require that every person who is in the construction industry and working onsite during the stand construction or dismantle phase of the exhibition work must hold a general construction induction card, (also known as a ‘white card’).

The erection of temporary stands, booths, rigging etc. is now classed as construction work and Queensland
Regulations laws require that:

  •  A person conducting a business or undertaking must ensure that general construction induction training has been provided to a worker engaged by the person who is to carry out construction work and that the worker holds a general construction induction training card.
  • Relevant people and workers cannot start construction work unless they hold general construction induction training evidence.

Queensland recognises that the use of equivalent interstate general construction induction cards in Queensland.

  • Please contact the Operations Manager to be set up on the SENTRY Portal and allocated as a contractor for FoodTech Qld 2022.
  • It is imperative that ALL STAFF are registered via this portal and complete the allocated inductions.
  • Details housed on this platform will speed up the onsite sign-in and accreditation process, as well as ensure your company / staff are meeting the COVID-19 contact tracing requirements of the event.
  • Once registered you will receive an email with details on how to add your staff details, and link them to the event.
  • Failure to register / induct all staff will result in delays accessing the halls during move in and move out.
